5…4…3…2…1, Happy New Year!!
And CHEERS to the OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF HEATHER LANE EVENTS!!
It was all a dream. You know the feeling when you are filled with so much joy and excitement you have to pinch yourself? When you are surrounded by all of the people in your life that love and support you the most? That was the blur of a day I had launching Heather Lane Events. All of my family, friends, supporters, past colleagues and more came out to pop bottles with me to celebrate the launch of my newest adventure.
Heather Lane Events…”so that’s your middle name?” No...it’s actually Suzanne. Heather Lane goes a bit deeper than a middle name. It's a combination of my earliest childhood memories and the foundation of my roots; family. Heather Lane is the street my Grandmother lives on to this day and has lived on since my mother was born. My Grandmother lives in a small town of 3,500 people where she and my two uncles run our family business that we joke feeds the entire town; Glasgow, MT. If you haven’t heard of it, that’s because it is literally in the middle of nowhere in Northeast Montana. But that is what makes it so incredibly dear to my heart. The simplicity of life. The slower pace of living. My childhood and adolescent years spent on Heather Lane have etched so many wonderful memories in my heart and soul. When I drive into the small town of Glasgow, even now, I get that giddy feeling, knowing I will soon be at our family’s restaurant surrounded by people that I love, especially my Grandma, Mary Sue. She is the matriarch of our family. I've wanted to be like her since I was a child. Staying late at work with our "Grandma Pizza" to help clean the kitchen and restock restaurant supplies certainly instilled the hard work ethic and "do it right the first time" attitude that I carry in my work today. She was and still is my ultimate role model and a huge reason I am the determined, self-starter, independent woman I am today.
The vision for my launch party in regards to theme, design & overall vibe came from these agate coasters from Anthropologie. When I found these coasters a few months before my launch party, I knew instantly that I was going to plan my entire design around them. As crazy as that sounds, that is typically how I plan my events and styled shoots. I get inspired by one small piece or a mixture of small things and build an entire concept around it. The next step was finding the perfect plates for the tablescape. I found these beauties (salad & dinner plate) at Crate & Barrel.
If you know me even a little bit (or you peek at my Instagram every once in a while), then you know my almost concerning obsession with champagne and anything bubbly! The “Bubbly Bar” had to be one of the many centerpieces of my launch party. The "Bubbly Bar" banner is from HomeGoods. These mini champagne bottles are SO me and all of the event vendors who helped with my launch party left with a mini bottle of bubbly!
Isn’t this floral arrangement dreamy? Designed by the lovely Fiddly Fig. I kept forgetting the name of the red draping flowers the day of my party and still have no idea what they are called? When I plan an event, I try to add home elements and decor that would make you feel like you’re in your own living room and comfortable. That way people tend to have more fun if they feel relaxed and comfortable!
Always ready to CELEBRATE!
Fun was had by all! And they better have had fun if I planned it! That’s what I’m known for, so I truly hope I delivered. I love looking back at all of the awesome photos captured that night by the amazingly talented, Shanley Cox. She captured my vision with precision and grace all while I was running around showing her the next thing to shoot! If you can’t feel the FUN in these pictures then you need to give me a call so we can fix that! HLE is always down for a good time and drinks (aka champs)!
CONFETTI OUT-TAKES! The excitement was real.
CHEERS to the beginning. CHEERS to chasing your dreams. CHEERS to HEATHER LANE EVENTS! I am thrilled to start this journey and even more thrilled to start taking on clients so I can continue to master the art of converting a vision into reality and have FUN doing it. LETS PARTY!
